I’m at a large tropical vacation house with a group of friends. I walk past a wall of french doors that opens directly onto the ocean. The water is turquoise and very clear, but endlessly deep. I see a pod of humpback whales in the water surfacing close to the house. As I watch, they swim up to the doors and gently nudge them, like they want to come in. I open the doors and sit on the edge, and one by one the whales swim up and rest the very tips of their faces gently in my lap so that I can pet them. Everyone else in the house has gathered around and is silently watching.
After the last whale swims off, I walk through the house and out the front door. The house is in a rain forest, but there’s a clearing with a stream running through it in the front yard. I wade into the stream and start walking through the water, following the stream. It takes me through the forest as I trail my fingertips in the water. It’s verdant and hot and there are jungle flowers everywhere in bright colors. I can smell them. There are fairly lights all around me, winking on and off and floating randomly like will-o-whisps.
What was my mind trying to tell me?

Oh, and the lights floating around you are opportunities, randomly present for your selection.
The french doors are the gates to your subconscious, and the whales–massive, beautiful, gentle–represent the things you believe you are capable of accomplishing. Goals maybe, or what you would like to become. The water is clear–that is, your subconscious is unclouded by doubt. You can see what you want. It is under your control, which is why the whales put their heads in your lap to pet. You have the support of your family and friends which is why they are gathered there watching.
When you walk out you enter a rainforest–a rich, fecund environment where anything can grow, and, there being no winter, survive throughout the year. This is your image of the future, a fertile landscape producing an abundance of bright, colorful, sweetly smelling things. I imagine you’re very optimistic. The stream is your path, your personal trail through time. That you run your fingers through it shows you aren’t afraid of its passage but feel connected to it as it carries you through your forest.
